Smart Tecar Therapy

SMART TECAR therapy as a system of Capacitive and Resistive electric transfer ,which is one of the methods used in diathermy, was developed as a form of deep thermotherapy ,delivers radiofrequency (RF) energy, which passes between active electrode and inactive electrode, and generates heat in the human body.

CET RF
Capacitive Electric Transfer (CET) is a method that allows the RF electrical current to be transferred “by capacity” (principle of the electrical capacitor) to the patient’s body via a moveable external application electrode. This is covered with an insulating film which acts as dielectric and the body acts as a second plate of the capacitor. A return plate closes the circuit. The electric circulation through the resistive medium formed by the live tissues increases its temperature.
RET RF
Thermal energy RET wave can penetrate directly into the deep subcutaneous adipose tissue (DSA) to a depth of 1-6 cm and generate energy with the help of skin-formed impedance.

How Does TECAR Therapy work?

Have you ever hit your knee really hard and then rubbed it to make the pain go away? The pain doesn’t actually go away. What happens is the surrounding nerves are stimulated by the friction and the pain signal from your knee gets confused. The pain remains the same, but the brain doesn’t register it as much. When you go through TECAR Therapy, an electrode head will be placed on the site of your pain, and you will feel a zapping. This zapping creates the same effect and it works for much more intense pain. This nerve stimulation can stop your nerves compounding the effect of the initial pain and can ease the inflammation, therefore reducing pain.

In addition, the heat speeds up your metabolism. This causes your blood to flow faster and to become more oxygenated. The result is that more oxygen, and other healing properties of your body’s natural systems, are rushed to the site. The waste is also removed more quickly. The overall result is that your pain is reduced significantly, and the injury is healed more quickly.

What is tecar therapy?

Diathermy, better known as Tecar therapy (an acronym for Capacitive and Resistive Energy Transfer), is a therapeutic technique that uses an electric current with frequencies in the MF (Medium Frequencies) radio band. It transfers energy in depth, through the tissues of the human body, triggering a biostimulating effect.
This is a therapy that is carried out in a medical practice, usually by a physiotherapist, on patients with a variety of pathologies, requiring rehabilitation, sports and also aesthetic treatment.

Tecar therapy specifically, and diathermy in its broadest and technically correct sense. This year represents a milestone in the study and application of this technique in the therapeutic field.

Diathermy and Tecar – differences:

As you may have noticed, we have used three different ways to refer to the same therapy. In fact, there is no difference between Diathermy, Tecar and Tecar therapy; they are generally used as synonyms. It is good to know, however, that the term diathermy denotes the therapeutic technique, while TECAR is nothing more than a commercial acronym derived from its main functions (it stands for Transferencia Electrica Capacitiva Resistiva, meaning Capacitive and Resistive Energy Transfer).
